In it for romance. Since then chicago fire debuted in 2012, romances have skyrocketed in the Windy City, and that’s expanded to chicago police when it launched in 2014 and Chicago Medwhen it started in 2015.
Whether you spent years pining for Casey and Dawson and were heartbroken when they divorced, or you counted down to Natalie and Will’s wedding only to be left heartbroken by her bloody dress, even fan-favorite relationships are definitely out! difficult! (Proof: The two couples just mentioned hooked up after those events!)
Some pairings definitely work better than others, something the creative teams are well aware of. “This is how they are in real life. They are hilarious together in a way that they are not with other people. However, not all couples started out romantic. Casey (jesse spencer) and Brett (kara killer) were simply co-workers; in fact, she was best friends with his wife and dated her brother. However, after Casey and Dawson parted ways and Antonio left town, things changed and sparks started to fly.
“They have a natural chemistry plus the fact that they’re in the same mold, character-wise,” Haas said exclusively. Us in April 2019, noting that they both have a great work ethic and a good head on their shoulders. “In general, [they’re] very good and solid people. Captain Marvel meets Captain America.”
He continued: “Real life throws curveballs at you. Real life is never exactly how you think it will be. People were saying, ‘They were so in love this doesn’t make sense!’ I have known many people who were so in love and their relationship ended, and it made no sense to anyone. Then you pick up the pieces and move on or try to fix it.”
Fans finally saw Casey and Brett as romantic partners during season 9 of chicago firebefore Casey moved to Oregon.
