The country is going to get a new Parliament House, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28. This building is special in many ways. Now the Finance Ministry has announced that it will mint Rs 75 coins to mark the inauguration of the Parliament House.
According to the ministry, the coin will bear the inscription ‘Parliament Complex’ along with the image of the new building. It will have a diameter of 44 millimeters, while being circular in shape with 200 serrations along the edges. 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper, 5 percent nickel and 5 percent zinc will be used to make this coin.
The obverse of the coin will bear the lion of Ashoka Pillar in the centre, with ‘Satyamev Jayate’ written below. Apart from this, ‘Bharat’ in Hindi and ‘India’ in English will be written on the left periphery of the coin.
On the other hand, ‘Parliament House’ will be written in Hindi in the upper periphery and it will be written in English in the lower periphery. According to the ministry, the design of the coin will be in accordance with the guidelines mentioned in the First Schedule of the Constitution.
Special coin was issued in April
Earlier, the Government of India had issued a special coin of Rs 100 in April. The coin was made to commemorate the completion of 100 episodes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’. The diameter of that coin was also 44 mm, while the microphone was made on it. It had a design of sound waves on it as well.

Inauguration will take place amid protest
