Aaron Rogers seemed to modify something during warmups at the New York Jets OTA in Florham Park, New Jersey, on Tuesday.
According to ESPN NFL reporter Dianna Russini, appearing in Sports Center“This doesn’t seem to be too serious.”
rodgers she remained a spectator for the rest of the practice, attending drills on the field alongside Mike Nicolini, New York’s head strength and conditioning coach, she noted.
“You could see Rodgers trying to put some weight on one of his legs there,” Russini said as a clip from rodgers airy heating. “We’re not sure if it was an adjustment; what kind of injury is it because it’s not really showing much. But you could definitely see in his face that something was up.”
Update: Rodgers, in his availability to the media afterwards, confirmed that it was a “minor calf strain” that kept him out of practice. After “pinching” his right calf, he decided to take a “vet’s day.”
“I don’t think it’s too serious,” Rodgers saysd.
According to Rich Cimini, hit reporter for ESPN’s New York Jets, “He walked slowly from drill to drill, giving occasional advice to quarterbacks and receivers. He was not wearing a sleeve on his injured calf during his post-practice press conference.”
TOAn injury to the 39-year-old quarterback is the last thing Jets fans want to happen. Zach Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, took reps from QB1.
In other injury news, newly signed WR Allen Lazard, a teammate of rodgers in Green Bay— he left the field with the team’s coaches for a time, but returned for 7-on-7.
