Elon Musk’s Neuralink Reports FDA Approval of Human Clinical Study

The news follows Elon Musk’s November claim that Neuralink was about six months away from its first human trial, suggesting it’s Musk’s rare promise actually coming to fruition on time. The announcement of a future human trial is not as big a milestone as the results of that trial. But this is not just any trial. This represents Elon Musk, of all people, connecting a device to a human brain.

And it makes us wonder: who would sign up for something like this and why? Will it be someone who might have an important medical reason or someone who wants to get the world’s attention on Musk’s side, and is there any chance it could be Elon Musk himself?
