Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison.
Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years by Obama-appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta on Thursday morning.
Judge Mehta issued “terror enhancement” sanctions to lengthen the sentence for seditious conspiracy. Mehta argued that the “hierarchical leader” should serve almost two decades in prison to ensure that he does not plot another terrorist attack like the one on January 6, the “blackest in this country.”
“Seditious conspiracy sentences in other cases. As he has pointed out, some involved the targeting and killing of Americans,” the judge warned. “Mr. Rhodes, you were convicted of seditious conspiracy. You are a lawyer, you understand what that means. For those who are not, it is true that neither Rhodes nor a conspirator used weapons against a police officer that day.”
In late November 2022, Washington DC juries returned a guilty verdict on junk “seditious conspiracy” charges against Stewart Rhodes in the Oath Keepers trial.
The DC jury found EVERY ONE of Trump’s supporters guilty in their disgusting and unconstitutional criminal proceedings against honest Americans who were involved in the violence on January 6th.
Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes NEVER entered the United States Capitol. He never instructed anyone to enter the United States Capitol. He was unarmed as were all of his Oath Keepers associates that day. There was no plan to enter the United States Capitol. There was no plan to take over the government into their own hands. The accusation was a farce. The jury was a group of deranged DC communists and left-wing activists who see themselves as victims.
The Oath Keepers were in DC in January 2021 to provide security for the various rallies planned by Trump supporters on January 5 and 6. The Oath Keepers and Proud Boys have worked security at dozens of events for conservatives, patriots, Christian groups and Trump supporters to protect them from organized Antifa violence. The Democrats hated them for this.

As previously reported, the conservatives were backtracked on Thursday night after Rep. Matt Gaetz told a Twitter Space meeting that he was not “particularly aggrieved” after Oath Keepers founder and chairman Stewart Rhodes was out. sentenced to 18 years in prison for alleged seditious conspiracy and “terrorism” on January 6, 2021.
Rep. Matt Gaetz said: “He went before a jury. They had all the constitutional privileges granted to defendants. They were found guilty of seditious conspiracy and if they were seriously trying to overthrow the government, 1.) they are idiots. 2.) They didn’t have a chance, and 3.) they probably deserve some punishment. I thought the sentences would be shorter than they were, so I was a bit surprised by the length, but not particularly distressed.”
On Friday, The Gateway Pundit spoke to Stewart Rhodes in his first interview since the sentencing. We cover numerous topics
Here’s what Stewart Rhodes had to say when he heard about Rep. Gaetz’s comments.
On Matt Gaetz’s comments
Stewart’s first reaction was to bring up an earlier comment by Gaetz, who was curious as to why Stewart had yet to be charged after the January 6 protests. Stewart was indicted on January 12, 2022, more than a year after the January 6 protests.
“I think now he probably has an egg on his face. [Matt Gaetz] because obviously it turns out that I was not a fed,” Stewart said.
“It took them a year to prepare their false evidence against me, forced confessions and threatened people. One year in prison for binding his plea agreements. It took them a long time to finally get around to charging me because I didn’t go in.”
“So now I think he has an egg on his face. Now you want to downplay that by saying, well, these people probably weren’t guilty. we are innocent. We are only guilty, as I said in my sentencing statement, I am only guilty, like President Trump, of standing up to those who are destroying our country.”
“And I have opposed them for free speech for 15 years since our Oath Keepers. That is what I have done. And everything I’ve done has been honorable. And everything the Oath Keepers have done has been honorable.”
Stewart added: “I’m not sure why he said that, but he needs to take a hard look at where we are and what has been done, not just to us, but to other people. What is going to be done, to stop the insurrection against the entire MAGA movement? Call us all rebels, all racists, all fascists, all anti-democratic. When they say democracy, we are not a democracy, we are a constitutional public. But what they really mean is our power. So when Biden says they are a threat to democracy, what he really means is that they are a threat to our power.”
He added: “Matt Gates, you need to take it back and fix that.”
Stewart also mentioned during our discussion that The New York Times he hired an informant to infiltrate the Oath Keepers.
Rhodes said: “We had a high informant in our ranks. I’m still under a gag order from the court. I can’t tell you who he was. This person was hired by The New York Times. We take care of that. So there was one, but it wasn’t me.”

Stewart Rhodes added this about Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.
“Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, of course, already had targets on our backs because we were the two national organizations in the entire country that were successfully defending people against Antifa.”
Stewart Rhodes: “We championed thousands of events throughout the Trump administration, across the country, and that’s not an exaggeration, everywhere. And in the summer of 2020, for example, we were championing Shelley Luther’s hair salon. Antifa had threatened to burn it to the ground. She had become notorious in her eyes for refusing to close during COVID. … We stood on her roof with her rifles to protect her hair salon, and she was very grateful… That’s why they hate us, the left hates both groups. Of course, when it happened on January 6th, they immediately took over the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and made us poster kids for January 6th because they hated us and hated us. And they want to use us to make January 6th look even worse. This is a reality. We have always had a goal on our back. So, I expected this and that’s why it was stupid for our guys to go in (to the Capitol) because he put our heads on a platter and they get it. They know they made that mistake.
This was an explosive video that is sure to make headlines.
