IPL 2023 GT vs MI Qualifier 2: IPL 2023 has reached its final match. In the Qualifier 2 match, Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians and made it to their second consecutive final. Gujarat Titans will now face Chennai Super Kings in the final on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This team, led by Hardik Pandya, has made it to the second final in its second consecutive season. While batting in this match, Shubman Gill scored a century of 129 runs. And in bowling, Mohit Sharma took five wickets to take the match away from Mumbai.
Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss here and decided to bowl first. While playing, Gujarat Titans scored 233 runs losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Shubman Gill played a brilliant inning of 129 runs. Whereas Sai Kishore scored 43 runs before being retired out. In the last, Hardik Pandya scored 28 runs in 13 balls and took the score to 233 runs. All the bowlers were thrashed for Mumbai. This was the biggest total of the IPL playoffs. In response, the entire team of Mumbai Indians was reduced to 171 runs in 18.2 overs.
Mumbai’s bad luck
Luck was definitely bad for Mumbai Indians in this match. Ishan Kishan got injured and he could not even get down to bat. Rohit Sharma was also injured in the field. However, he came on the opening but proved to be a flop. Nehal Wadhera opened the innings with him but he also failed. After this, Cameron Green was seen in good rhythm but he too got injured and retired hurt. Tilak Verma played a brilliant inning but could not last. Green came after that but could not do much. In the end there were hopes on Surya but he too got out after scoring 61 runs and the hopes of the team were shattered. Mohit Sharma also contributed significantly for Gujarat in this victory and took 5 wickets for 10 runs.
This is the second season for Gujarat Titans and the team has reached the finals for the second time in a row. Last season, the team won the title by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final. This time again the team has come to the finals. It has also become the first team to play the finals of its first two seasons. The team of Gujarat Titans will defend their title against Chennai Super Kings at their home ground on Sunday. That record will be CSK’s 10th final match. Mumbai Indians missed out on playing their seventh final and were eliminated in third place.
