Royal Challengers Bangalore stalwart Virat Kohli wrote a candid post after the end of the team’s IPL 2023 campaign and Shubman Gill’s comment was gold. After losing to the Gujarat Titans in a must-win game on Sunday, RCB was knocked out of the IPL 2023 playoff race. A win would have propelled RCB into the playoffs, but a loss helped Mumbai Indians join the Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants in the top-4 on the points table at the end of the league stage.
“A season that had its moments, but unfortunately we missed the mark. Disappointed, but we must keep our heads up. To our loyal fans, grateful for supporting us every step of the way. Many thanks to the coaches, management and my teammates. team. Our goal is to come back stronger,” Kohli wrote on Instagram
On this, Gill commented with a crown emoji, certainly describing Kohli as a king.

Gill reaffirmed his status as Kohli’s heir apparent with a magnificent hundred as GT knocked RCB out of IPL with a six-wicket victory, allowing Rohit Sharma’s IM to sneak in as the fourth team in the play-offs in Bengaluru on Sunday.
After Kohli scored 101 off 61 balls in RCB’s 197 for five, it looked like the best effort of the day, but Gill, who will be the standard bearer for Indian batting for the next 10 years, proved he is better than the best. What Kohli did well, Gill did better as his 52-ball unbeaten 104 saw the Titans go after the target with gusto. Like former India captain Kohli, this was Gill’s second consecutive hundred.
