How is the story of the film?
The film begins with Lucknow-based Jogi Pratap aka Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who runs a company called Shaandaar Events, which conducts weddings. Jogi’s jugaad never fails, he is very proud of this fact.
During a wedding, Jogi meets Dimple Chaubey (Neha Sharma). She is very modern in thought. She smokes, drinks and does not hesitate to lie. Dimple barges into a wedding ceremony which was organized by Jogi. When she is caught, she makes up a story and dupes Jogi to extort money from him.
Jogi lives with his four sisters, a mother and an aunt. He is the only male member of the family, and is constantly faced with the demands made by the family. Jogi is a sensitive, caring and loving person, but his life is not easy.
Jogi has a new client, the Chaubey family. While decorating her house for the wedding, she finds Dimple again. Jogi learns that Dimple is very rich and is about to get married. But Dimple doesn’t want to marry her would-be groom Lallu (Mimoh), because he is boring and simple, and she doesn’t even love him.
Gradually, the connection between Jogi and Dimple grows stronger. Dimple and Jogi start plotting to break the marriage.
Jogi starts planting wrong ideas in the minds of Lallu and his family, asking them to demand dowry, but every ploy fails. Eventually, Jogi and his associates hatch a plan to kidnap Dimple to break the marriage. He uses the kidnapping style of the local Chowdhary gang and makes her believe that a gang has kidnapped Dimple.
Dimple starts living with Jogi and his family, and finds that she is happy with Jogi. The wedding is annulled, but Dimple’s family learn that Jogi is behind the kidnapping, so they force Jogi to marry Dimple.
Jogi, who doesn’t want to marry anyone, starts planning to break his own marriage. Meanwhile, Dimple is actually kidnapped by the Chowdhary gang and the matter turns into a riot. What happens next is heartwarming.
How is the acting of the actors?
The film is full of comedy, which is made fun with performances by Nawaz and Neha. Nawazuddin has done an unbelievable job. Neha hasn’t missed a beat as Dimple. Zarina Wahab has done a fabulous job as Jogi’s mother. Chacha Chaudhary, the leader of the Chaudhary gang, has a small role, but he has done a strong acting. The film is a complete family entertainer with no foul language used, nothing vulgar. This is a great movie to watch with the family.
