“At around 4:20 p.m., a car collided with the gates on Downing Street in Whitehall. Armed officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal mischief and dangerous driving,” police said in a statement. “There are no reports of injuries.”
Police said investigations were ongoing.
