EXCLUSIVE: Format Marcus / Glass Productions Let’s make a Deal He is heading to Greece. The commercial network Alpha TV ordered a local version of the game show through an agreement with the international distributor Can’t Stop Media.
locally titled as To Pio Megalo Pazari (the grand bazaar), the show will come from Alpha and will be produced by Foss Productions, the independent producer behind the entry into the international competition Series Mania Milky Way. The series will be broadcast daily in a preferential access space.
In the US, the show has been broadcast on CBS, hosted by Wayne Brady, since 2009 and is approaching 3,000 episodes. This marks the latest since Marcus/Glass, a joint production venture between Marcus Entertainment Chairman Marcus Lemonis and Glass Entertainment Group CEO and former CBS Entertainment head Nancy Glass, acquired the intellectual property and appointed the European based distributor Can’t Stop to sell it internationally.
In January, we reported that TVI in Portugal had ordered daily and primetime versions on Sunday nights, while GTV Indonesia airs it every weeknight and is approaching 300 episodes. The format recently premiered in Hungary on TV2.
“Let’s make a Deal continues to deliver as a sure bet for broadcasters around the world,” said Glass. “We are excited that this timeless format will find a home in Greece.”
“We are pleased to earn this daily commission in such a competitive market,” added Damien Porte. Partner at Can’t Stop. “Access primetime is the ideal time slot for this legacy format, which has already been adapted in 23 countries from Asia to the Americas. We believe this will pave the way for more broadcasters to follow suit.”
