Lucknow Super Giants had a forgettable outing against Mumbai Indians in the 2023 IPL Eliminator in Chennai on Wednesday. Chasing a target of 183 runs, LSG fell 81 runs short to be eliminated from the race for a final place. Marcus Stoinis was LSG’s top batsman with a score of 40. Until he was at the crease it looked like LSG had a chance despite the wickets falling at the other end. However, his entry was cut short in the 12th of the chase after a bizarre run. Facing MI’s Cameron Green, Stoinis and fellow hitter Deepak Hooda ran in a pair of runs in the fifth inning. There was a disagreement between the two and they even collided in the middle of the field.
That collision helped Tim David toss the ball past Stoinis as Ishan Kishan made a smart run.
