ChatGPT in America: Microsoft-owned OpenAI recently launched ChatGPT on the iOS platform. ChatGPT has become a rage in the US since its launch. It has been revealed in a report that within just 6 days of ChatGPT coming on iOS platform, it has been downloaded more than 5 lakh times.

As TechCrunch reports, ChatGPT outperformed many rival apps, including AI and chatbot apps like Microsoft’s Bing and Edge. Microsoft added AI to both Bing and Edge for the first time in February this year. After launching, people had shown a lot of interest in it.

Their best five day downloads for iOS and Android combined were 340,000 downloads for Bing and 335,000 downloads for Edge. ChatGPT app beat them easily. It was followed by 480,000 in the first five days since its launch on iOS in the US.

In terms of downloads on iOS alone, the best five days were 2,50,000 downloads for AI-powered Bing and 1,95,000 downloads for Edge. Bing and Edge currently lead ChatGPT on iOS and Android combined in total US downloads in May, but ChatGPT on iOS alone has overtaken them in just six days.

Chat with Ask has better AI

According to the report, the only app to outperform was ‘Chat with Ask AI’, which saw 5,90,000 installs in the period April 4-8, 2023, while ChatGPT had 4,80,000 installs from May 18-22.

After initially launching ChatGPT in the US, the company has now expanded to Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, India, Jamaica, Korea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, UK and other countries.
