Oprah Winfrey does not want Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat should the Democrat resign (or die) before her term expires.
The Associated Press reported this week that California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been raising the possibility for weeks if Feinstein retires early.
Newsom promised to nominate a black woman to the Senate seat.
Oprah’s Spox told Fox News that the talk show mogul and new age guru is not considering the Senate job.
Fox News reported:
Oprah Winfrey is ruling out the possibility of her replacing Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., should the 89-year-old Democrat resign from Congress before the end of her term.
Fox News Digital reached out to Winfrey’s representatives to ask about reports suggesting her name was on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s short list for a appointee to fill the position. Feinstein has said he will retire at the end of his current term and that he will not run again in 2024, but questions about his health and mental acuity have prompted calls from some Democrats for him to step down sooner.
“Oprah Winfrey is not considering the position should it become vacant,” a Winfrey spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Thursday.
Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s health problems are far worse than previously revealed to the public.
The California senator’s diminished condition, droopy red eye and paralyzed face shocked the public.
Feinstein suffers from various complications from (allegedly) shingles, including facial paralysis, memory loss, vision and balance problems, and brain swelling, according to the New York Times.
If Newsom names Feinstein’s replacement before his term expires, he would be the SECOND US Senator from California to take a seat without being voted into office since 2021 (Alex Padilla was appointed to replace Kamala’s seat). .
