POCSO Act is being misused, will force the government to change, Brij Bhushan Singh gave a statement

The FIR against Singh was lodged following a Supreme Court order on an appeal by wrestlers who had accused Singh of sexual harassment. He made the remarks on Thursday at a meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich regarding preparations for the saints’ rally in Ayodhya on June 5. Top wrestlers of the country including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia have been protesting against the WFI chief at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar since April 23, demanding his arrest. The Kaiserganj MP claimed, “This law is being misused against children, elders and saints. Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against the WFI chief. Brij Bhushan Singh reiterated that all the allegations leveled against him are false. He said that the POCSO law was brought by the Congress government without examining its various aspects. The Sports Ministry has suspended all activities of the wrestling federation till the probe into allegations of sexual harassment of wrestlers against the WFI chief is over.
