Indore (Madhya Pradesh). Congress Rajya Sabha member Digvijay Singh continued his direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday regarding the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House. He said Modi’s “huge mistake” should be rectified and the building should be inaugurated by the President as per the provisions of the Constitution.
Significantly, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new building of Parliament on May 28. So far 21 opposition parties have said that they will not attend the inauguration ceremony. Before leaving for Delhi, Singh told reporters at Indore airport, “We are not opposing the Central Vista project. For the first time in the country, a tribal woman has become the President. Not inviting him to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House is an insult to the office of the President because Article 79 of the Constitution provides that no program related to Parliament can be held without the consent of the President.
