Raipur: Food Inspector Rajesh Vishwas’s mobile had fallen in the waste ware of a reservoir in Pakhanjur of Kanker district in Chhattisgarh. After this, the officer wasted lakhs of liters of water to find the mobile. The cost of the mobile was around Rs 96,000, to get which water was drawn from the reservoir for 4 days. The food inspector was suspended as soon as the matter came to the limelight. The Superintendent Engineer’s office has ordered to recover the amount of water from the salary of SDO RK Dhivar.
Lakhs of liters of water wasted in scorching heat
When District Collector Priyanka Shukla came to know about the matter, she took action after taking cognizance of the matter. He issued an order to suspend Rajesh Vishwas. District North Bastar Kanker Collector Priyanka Shukla wrote, Pakhanjoor Food Inspector Rajesh Vishwas poured about 21 lakh liters of water between West Weir to Scale Way of Paralkot reservoir for four consecutive days to find his mobile. An inquiry was conducted with SDM Pakhanjur regarding this.
As per its report, Rajesh Vishwas has emptied 41104 cubic meter water of the reservoir without any permission. For this, Food Inspector Rajesh Vishwas did not take permission from any competent authority and misusing his position, wasted lakhs of liters of water in the scorching heat. This is his unbecoming conduct which cannot be accepted.
Inspector went to party with friends
Indravati Project Circle, Jagdalpur’s Accreditation Engineer has issued a letter in this regard. It states that Rajesh Vishwas had gone to Paralkot on May 21 to party with friends. During this his mobile had fallen into the Stalin Basin of the West Wear of the dam.

Earlier, action has also been taken against Rajesh in a case related to the PDS scheme. In the year 2021, a huge quantity of rice was recovered from his relative’s house. Inspector got it checked. After this, he was suspended after being found guilty in the investigation.
