And so began his touching story. Now fast forward to today, and the two are competing on “The Cube” to win $250,000.

A wrong text brought two families together in 2016
When Dench thought she was sending her grandson a text inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner, she quickly discovered she had the wrong number. But instead of writing it off and moving on, an unlikely bond began to form between the grandmother and the then-17-year-old.
Hinton, now 23, is sharing their incredible relationship on social media for all who follow their heartwarming story. She often shares Thanksgiving dinner updates, as well as other times the two run into each other throughout the year.
In November, Hinton shared an Instagram post about a business partnership the two formed.
He also shared a photo announcing that the seventh year of Thanksgiving was happening for the two of them and their families.
“One of my favorite stories of all time! ❤️”, wrote a person in the comments of the publication. “Love that you all are keeping up the tradition,” wrote another.
There has also been talk of a Netflix movie about her story.
Hinton tweeted the announcement about a year ago saying, “I am very excited to announce our new partnership with Netflix. We thank each of you for your love and support on our journey over the past six years. We can’t wait to tell our story on the big screen.
According Variety, “The Thanksgiving Text” will tell the true story of how a wrong text started a new friendship that became family. In a joint statement, Dench and Hinton said: “We are excited to share our story with the world. We hope it inspires more people to reach out and make connections that they normally wouldn’t. We are so blessed to find a genuine friendship brought together by God out of a wrong text.”
Dench and Hinton’s episode of “The Cube” airs June 4 on TBS.
